In 1979, the club was formed when the community center ice rink was being built. The Chesapeake Curling Club provides three sheets of curling ice from December to March, hosting league matches along with curling sessions. The club is also a part of the Grand National Curling Club, which is comprised of 70 curling clubs in the eastern United States and a member of the United States Curling Association.
