This one and two-story brick building was constructed in 1935. There is no WPA or New Deal documentation on the building itself. It does, however, appear in the Living New Deal database as a building funded by the Treasury Department. Originally built as a Federal building and U.S. Post office, the building now houses the Board of Education. It is located at 222 W. Broadway at the corner of S. Adams.

The building faces north and has a two-door glass entrance with a seven-step staircase. A small portion of the front of the building has a second story. The roof is flat and a tall brick chimney rises at the back of the building. The 8-over-8 double hung windows have cast stone sills, and standing brick lintels with keystones. A concrete belt course extends around the building above the windows, and a concrete cornice wraps around the two-story section. East of the front entrance is a concrete cornerstone with just the year 1935.
