In celebration of the 350th anniversary of the Town of Suffield, a barn quilt trail was established throughout the town. Some painted barn quilts are bases on traditional patterns and others are more modern in their design.

The "Four Seasons" barn quilt at 896 North Grand Street by the Taravella Family uses a geometric pattern to create maple leaves of yellow, green, red and blue to represent the four seasons: fall, spring, summer and winter respectively. The curve of the stems of the leaves all meet at a ommon point in the center. The border is painted in the same four colors to match the color of the leaves.
Your Visit:
The barn quilt is on an old tobacco barn that is set on the east side of 896 North Grand Street. It an be seen from the road on the barn beyond the garden fence by either northbound or southbound traffic. It's a clever design and effectively conveys the essence of the four seasons in New England.
