This memorial obelisk to commemorate the men of Brotherton stands on a platform on an earth bank opposite St. Edward the Confessor Church.

The obelisk stands on a two step base both of which are made of sand stone. The lower step has plaques dedicated to the men who died in the First Wprld War, and later plaques were added to the upper step to commemorate the Second World War.
A Christian Cross is carved into the front and back face of the obelisk.
