The pre-fabricated steel framed curved roof hangar clad in galvanised corrugated iron was one of the two original structures purchased by E.J. Connellan in 1940, transported to Alice Springs and erected in the same year. The hangar was used by Connair Mail (the first regular air mail and medical services to many isolated settlements in the Northern Territory and northern Western Australia). Since the late 1970's it has been used as an Aviation Museum,
