The sculpture is at the entrenance of the city hall. It is made out of bronze and approx 1 meter high. It depicts a lady playing the harp. The statue sits on a elevation made from bricks.


The artist:

Nicolaas (Niek) van Leest (Moerdijk, January 5, 1930 – Lage Zwaluwe, June 29, 2012) was a Dutch painter and sculptor.

Van Leest was a self-taught artist. He initially worked as a painter and furniture designer, later he switched to sculpting. He made more than 100 bronze sculptures, which were mainly placed in North Brabant. He is the father of sculptor Pier van Leest.
