Initially a nomadic brewery, Beak started by brewing one-off, seasonal beers in collaboration with various micro-breweries around the UK. In 2020 Beak Brewery established a permanent base on the Cliffe Industrial Estate in Lewes, East Sussex, where a 15bbl brewery and associated taproom has been developed.
Beak brew in both modern and traditional styles and have a mixed-fermentation and barrel-aging project at the brewery which is expected to expand. The brewery also grows its own malting barley on land nearby on the South Downs.
The taproom opens at the brewery on Friday evenings and all day at weekends. There are indoor seating areas within full view of the brewery equipment and a choice of both covered or uncovered seating outside on the brewery forecourt. Beak Brewery and guest beers are sold in keg or can format for consumption on the premises or for takeaway. A varying selection of street food vendors are usually also present. Wine is also sold.
