"The Great Marsh Trail is a paved, three-quarter-mile-long, trail following a forested peninsula and ending at an observation platform overlooking the Great Marsh. Information about Joseph V. Gartlan, the Great Marsh Trail, and the Elizabeth Hartwell Mason Neck NWR is available at a kiosk located at the trail head. The observation platform features an accessible telescope and information panels describing typical plants and wildlife found along the trail. The trail is open to foot traffic only, pets on leash up to 6 feet, and accessible to disabled visitors."
