On July 16, 1817, the municipality of Waalwijk was officially awarded a coat of arms for the first time on behalf of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands by the Supreme Court of Nobility. The first coat of arms shows a shield hanging from a red ribbon diagonally in front of a tree. The second weapon is the same, but the tree is right behind the shield.
