Built on the Royal Australia Air Force base in Darwin in 1940. The tower doubled as the base’s Air Traffic Control Tower! The control room was built under the water reservoir. It was painted in red and white squares to highlight it as an obstacle. In May 2008 the structure was dismantled and transported to be re-erected on much shorter legs at the Australian Aviation Heritage Centre
