Ithaca College was founded as the Ithaca Conservatory of Music in 1892. In 1968, the campus moved from its downtown location to its new South Hill Campus, a mile south of downtown Ithaca. At that time they constructed the Ford Auditorium and installed the Schlicker Organ.
