Long Description:

The Marble bridge leads over Frederiksholms Kanal from the area by Christiansborg Castle to Ny Vestergade.
The bridge with the three arches was built in 1739-45 and designed by the architect Niels Eigtved. It is called the Marble bridge because of the materials which are both marble and sandstone.
The bridge is adorned with four large portrait medallions and Rococo-style ornaments, made by the French sculptor Louis-Augustin Le Clerc.
The bridge has been restored several times.
