Back when this waymarker was a new driver (to school and work only, in a small farming community) I asked permission to take my friends to a movie in the Big City. Dad refused. In the petulant manner of teenage boys everywhere I pouted "Give me one good reason!" and Dad retorted "Broadway Extension!" This major artery of Oklahoma City has always carried just about all the traffic it could bear and has seen numerous improvements over the years. The most recent was honored by the ACEC for rapid completion of two bridges, using "accelerated bridge construction methods" that set two major bridges (one railroad, one traffic) in place over a weekend. Broadway (now I-235) was also widened and rush hour traffic there is just a bit more bearable now. But when my own children were new drivers I gave them the same warning!
