In front of the former Schimmelmann's Palace, now the Odd Fellow Palace, are three wrought iron gates, a large main gate and two side gates. The main gate is 4-5 m high.
Schimmelmanns Palæ is a rococo building in Frederiksstaden in Copenhagen, which was built 1751-1755. In the period 1884-1890, the palace was added to and rebuilt for use in concerts. In 1900, the Odd Fellow Order bought the building, after which it now changed its name to the Odd Fellow Palace. In 1992, a violent fire broke out and large parts of the building burned down. It was rebuilt and is still used by the Odd Fellow Palace.
It has not been possible to find much information about the wrought iron gates. Stylistically, they could have been built at the same time as the palace. In 1900, two side pavilions were built and thus part of the fence was removed, which also tells us that the fence and gate were built earlier.
in 2014, the gate was restored by Emil Nielsen's Smedeværksted who are specialized small blacksmiths.
