The current St. Clemenskerk was built in 1896. The church is named after Pope Clement I. A statue of Pope Clement I is located above the main entrance. Next to the church is a Sacred Heart statue.
The architect of the church is Jacques van Groenendael, who had a construction budget of 69,837 guilders. The tower was restored in the 1980s. The building is listed as a national monumen.
On September 29, 2019 at 11 a.m., the last Eucharistic celebration was held in the Sint-Clemenskerk in Waalwijk. The church was then withdrawn from worship.
