The Magma Hotel was constructed in three sections between 1912 and 1923. The first building was constructed of concrete in 1912 on the corner of Main St. and Magma St. Next to it, constructed of adobe, was the 1916 addition which doubled the size of the hotel. That section fell down in 2007. The third section was constructed of fired brick in 1923 and connected to the other two sections by a brick entrance way with a grand staircase leading to the other sections. Reconstruction of the hotel began with a new owner in 2014 As the hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places it has been restored to its early 20th century style with a total of 21 rooms. The restoration includes a dining room and a patio reception area with a view of the mountains.
