It has a plaque that recalls that on February 21, 1820, the Coruñes revolted and proclaimed the Constitution.
It is on one side of the place, and has a triangular big base.It is made of granite.
We can see:
"O 21 d efebreiro de 1820, nesta praza, os liberais coruñeses levantáronse contra o absolutismo e proclamaron a Constitución de Cádiz. A súa acción permitiu o triunfo da revolución e o establecemento das liberdades en España, repercutindo o seu exemplo en Europa e América. Por iso A Coruña gañou o título de segundo baluarte da liberdade.
No 200 aniversario, 21 de febreiro de 2020."
translate: The 21 of February of 1820, in this square, the from A Coruña liberals raised against the absolutism and proclaimed the Constitution of Cádiz. His action allowed the triumph of the revolution and the establishment of the freedoms in Spain, giving his example in Europe and America. Hence A Coruña won the title of second example of the freedom.
