Olga Scheinpflugová (1902–1968) was a Czech actress, writer, poet and playwright. From 1918 she studied acting with Marie Hübnerová, a member of the National Theater. In 1920 she was engaged to the Švanda Theater. From 1922 to 1928 she was a member of the Municipal Theater in Královské Vinohrady (Theater in Vinohrady), then until 1968 at the National Theater in Prague, with a short break from 1944 to 1946. She created over 130 roles on the stage of the National Theater. She resisted pathos in portraying her characters.

One of the most important roles was the role of the mother in the play of the same name by Karel Capek, which premiered at the Vinohrady Theater on September 1, 1967, directed by Luboš Pistorius, and which Olga Scheinpflugová ended her acting career here.

Initially, she played young charming and spirited characters, depicting femininity full of contradictions, but with a sense of humor, emotion, tragedy and poetry. The actress herself respected the vision of the directors (most often she collaborated with Jan Bor, K. H. Hilar, Jirí Frejka, Karel Dostal, Otomar Krejca or Alfréd Radok), but she always approached the role individually.

She became an acclaimed and great actress, who reached the peak of her work after the occupation in great tragic and dramatic roles from the world repertoire.

She also entered the history of Czech culture with her three-year (1935–1938) marriage to the writer and playwright Karel Capek (1890–1938). She wrote her memories in the book "Ceský román" (1946) and the biography "I was in the world" (1988). In 1968 she was awarded the title of national artist in memoriam.
