Weldam estate, with a size of 1100 ha of arable land and grassland, 700 ha of forest, 65 farms and 20 houses, is one of the largest in the Netherlands. The estate also includes forests and nature reserves that are accessible to hikers. Signs indicate where you are allowed to walk. A footpath with beeches along it, starts at this spot. If you follow the path you will eventually reach the old school of Dijkerhoek, the Bosschool.
At this point a sign indicates that you are at an access point of the Weldam estate. One is attached to a pole and the other is slowly eaten by a beech tree.
