DE: Im Rahmen der Aktion "Gebäude erzählen Geschichte" hat der Lions Club in Brühl in Zusammenarbeit mit der Stadt Brühl Anfang 2011 fast dreissig Tafeln mit Hintergrundinformationen zur Geschichte der Gebäude gestiftet. Diese graue Tafel mit weißer Schrift befindet sich am Wohnhaus in der Burgstraße 20 und trägt folgenden Text:

Der Anfang des 20. Jh.'s errichtete Wohnhauskomplex des Bonner Architekten Chr. Menniken fällt durch seine Fassadengestaltung auf. Gotische Architekturformen (Fenster) wurden mit aufgesetztem figürlichen Schmuckwerk (Kopfmasken und Wappenzier) verknüpft, das Jugendstilcharakter trägt. Den Häusern gegenüber lag das kurfürstliche Jagdhaus, das spätere Hotel Belvedere, die "gute Stube" der Stadt, Treffpunkt der Brühler Gesellschaft bei geselligen Ereignissen. 1971 wurde es abgerissen.

EN: As part of the "Buildings tell history" campaign, the Lions Club in Brühl, in cooperation with the city of Brühl, donated almost thirty boards with background information on the history of the buildings at the beginning of 2011. This gray board with white lettering is located on the residential building at Burgstrasse 20 and has the following text:

The residential complex built at the beginning of the 20th century by the Bonn architect Chr. Menniken is striking because of its facade design. Gothic architectural forms (windows) were linked with attached figurative ornaments (head masks and coat of arms) that have an Art Nouveau character. Opposite the houses was the electoral hunting lodge, which later became the Hotel Belvedere, the "parlor" of the city, the meeting place for the Brühl society at social events. It was demolished in 1971.
