Acee Blue Eagle was a well-known Native American artist who painted quite a few of the murals that hang in U.S. post offices, under a WPA-sponsored program. This mural is entitled "Indian Family at Routine Tasks" and was painted and installed in 1942. It shows a Native American man with a bow and arrow, as well as three women threshing and grinding wheat. Across the sky flies a flock of Scissortail, the Oklahoma state bird. On the lower right corner, the artist has painted "Blue eagle - Oct. '42".
