Folgt man dem Weg vom Rathaus kommend links entlang der Klosterkirche so kommt man zu dem Euthanesie Mahnmal und den aufgestellten Infotafeln
Während der NS Gewaltherrschaft wurden in dem Psychiatrischen Krankenhaus welches dem Kloster Irsee angeschlossen war zahlreiche psychisch kranke Menschen umgebracht. In den ersten Euthanesie Phase (1940) wurden 400 Patienten von Irsee in die Tötungsanstalten Grafeneck und Hartheim depotiert und dort vergast. Die Transporte wurden von der Euthanesie Zentrale als Verlegungen getarnt und trugen die Kennzeichnung T4.
1941 wurden die Transporte eingestellt.
In der Folgezeit wurden mehr als 800 Patienten gezielt ermordet.
1944 wurde ein eigener Friedhof angelegt der nach Auflösung des Krankenhauses(1972) nicht mehr gepflegt und später eingeebnet wurde.
Vor der Gedenkstätte sind an den Eingängen Informationstafel aufgestellt welche auf die verübten Verbrechen aufmerksam machen.

If you follow the path from the town hall to the left along the monastery church, you will come to the Euthanesie Memorial and the information boards that have been set up
During the Nazi regime, numerous mentally ill people were killed in the psychiatric hospital which was attached to the Irsee Monastery. In the first euthanesis phase (1940), 400 Irsee patients were deported to the Grafeneck and Hartheim killing centers and gassed there. The transports were disguised as relocations by the Euthanesie Zentrale and were marked T4.
In 1941 the transports were stopped.
In the period that followed, more than 800 patients were deliberately murdered.
In 1944 a separate cemetery was set up, which was no longer maintained after the hospital was closed in 1972 and was later leveled.
In front of the memorial, information boards are set up at the entrances to draw attention to the crimes committed.
