Mrs. Tinkle's father- and mother-in-law were Nathan and Matilda Tinkle, pioneers in the Tinkle community here in Navarro County. They are also buried here at Pattison Cemetery.

The family name, "Tinkle", is on the plinth, and the Woodmen Circle emblem is a little below the urn that remains intact atop the monument. The inscription reads:

Lizzie E.

Wife of
A.J. Tinkle

Aug. 10, 1887
Apr. 18, 1919

In love she lived
In peace she died,
Her life was craved
But God denied.

As a wife, devoted;
As a Mother, affectionate
As a friend, e'er kind
and true.
Was the inscription legible?: Yes
