The Banco Pastor Building is a 1925 building designed by the architects Antonio Tenreiro and Peregrín Estellés in the Small Canton of La Coruña for the headquarters of the Banco Pastor . It was the first skyscraper in March and Spain 's tallest building until the construction of the Telefónica building on the Gran Vía in Madrid in 1929.

In 1918 Ricardo Rodríguez Pastor and Pedro Barrié began to buy plots in the Cantons to build the headquarters of their bank. From that moment they began to modify the size of the plots, in which they demolished the existing buildings, three or four floors with galleries .

The project was commissioned by Pastor and Barrié from their relative Antonio Tenreiro in 1919 with the idea of ??building a headquarters for their bank. Ternero had a degree in architecture in Madrid that same year and settled in La Coruña in 1921. The final project dates from 1922. The Municipal Works Commission approved the project for a 38-meter building despite the fact that the maximum accepted was 20 meters indicating that the new and modern building would make the city more beautiful.

The new building was inaugurated on November 11, 1925, becoming the first skyscraper in Galicia and Spain.

The building, almost forty meters high, occupies a plot of more than 1000 square meters. It was designed by Antonio Tenreiro , Peregrín Estellés and Emilio Moya, although only the first two signed the plans. It is eclectic in style, based on the architecture of the Chicago School and the English and American banks, with decorative elements of neo- baroque and art deco style

It is built around a patio that gives light to the entire building, using, in a pioneering way in Galicia, reinforced concrete and artificial stone. The structure is similar to a column , with a base of three floors, a shaft with a vertical development of six floors and a spire formed by the last two floors, with more decoration. The bank's offices were located on the ground floor, the mezzanine, and the first floor; the next floor was occupied by Pedro Barrié's house and the rest were houses. In the attic they installed their studio Tenreiro and Estellés.

The entrance is made through a chamfer between the Small Canton and Santa Catarina street, which leads to a hall where the bank's cashiers and counters were located. The ground floor is illuminated by a stained glass window.

In 1959 the building was expanded towards Durán Loriga Street.
