The Southern Methodist Episcopal Church was built in 1888 by Selwyn Shaw. Today, although it no longer operates as a church, the steeple, stained glass windows and gingerbread details remain. The current occupant of the church is The Victorian Rose Bed and Breakfast. They have been offering lodging and high tea since 2002. This location is Historical Landmark #28 as designated by the City of San Buenaventura Historic Preservation Commission.
