Fictional island. It's where the Prime Meridian and the Equator intersect, at zero degrees latitude and zero degrees longitude (0°N 0°E). Using the WGS84 datum. There is a buoy there.

Null Island is a fictional island located in international waters in the Gulf of Guinea off the west African coast.

The coordinates for Null Island were added to the Natural Earth public domain map dataset in 2011. After that the term came into wide use in cartography. It is located at the point where the Earth's equator is crossed by the Zero meridian, at the coordinates N0°E0°.

That's where its name comes from, NULL is used in computing to refer to "nothing". Natural Earth describes the entity as a «1 meter square island» with «scale rank 100», indicating it should never be shown in mapping. Numerous websites have documented about this fictional landmass, creating an imaginary flag, geography, and history.

Although the intention may appear to be a joke, it actually has a serious purpose. It is used by mapping systems to capture errors during the map design stage. This position, located at zero degrees latitude and zero degrees longitude, is the place where geocoding systems send you when there is an error.

There is a moored weather and sea observation bouy in this position in the RealWorld™. This buoy ("Station 13010 - Soul") is part of the PIRATA system (Prediction and Research Moored Array in the Atlantic). The PIRATA system collects meteorological and oceanographic data.

The nearest land to this buoy is a small islet offshore of Ghana.
