There are six (6) large rectangular permanent raised beds along the front side of the YMCA's building that parallels the sidewalk going toward YMCA's main entrance. Each raised bed is made of white stone bricks. Each bed is about 20 feet long, 6 feet wide and 4 feet tall. The plantings within these beds at the time of posting this waymark were varieties of Spring vegetables like kale, tomatoes, collard greens and some onions. Nearby was a garden hose to use for watering the plants as needed during the South Texas heat in the summer. A glass and metal sign was placed between the 3rd and 4th raised bed that identified this area as a Community Garden and listed an original sponsor. There were other plastic placards attached to the side of some of the raised beds that also identified these as a Community Garden and provided their conditions of use.
