Le 14 octobre 2017, le Centre historique de la mine King|KB3 a tenu l'inauguration de l'oeuvre d'art qui est dressée devant son chevalement : le Croque-roche, une oeuvre de M. Roger Gaudreau.
Le croque-roche commence sa vie publique, il accueillera les visiteurs et citoyens dans ce lieu de mémoire important de la région », de dire M. Roger Gaudreau, artiste.
« Par sa composition et sa forme, l'oeuvre de M. Gaudreau rend hommage au patrimoine minier et géologique de la région de Thetford.
Accessible en tout temps, tous sont invités à venir admirer le Croque-roche, qui rallie les différentes dimensions du site lui-même et de son histoire
Le croque-roche
Le croque roche est une sculpture autonome aménagée au centre de l'esplanade de l'ancien site minier KB3.
La fabrication de cette œuvre a été faite d’Acier inoxydable et de pierres.
Elle prend la forme d'un vaste serpentin tubulaire déployé à l'horizontale dont l'enveloppe métallique grillagée constitutive est remplie des centaines de petites roches naturelles et ouvragées de facture variée.
Vrille monumentale culminant en direction du chevalement, l'oeuvre se veut offrir une présence organique et minérale au coeur de l'espace qui fort évocatrice, offre de nombreuses corrélations avec la vocation du site tant dans une perspective actuelle qu'historique.

On October 14, 2017, the Historic Center of the King | KB3 mine held the inauguration of the artwork erected in front of its headframe: the Croque-roche, an artwork by Mr. Roger Gaudreau.
The croque-roche begins its public life, it will welcome visitors and citizens to this important place of memory in the region, ”said Roger Gaudreau, artist.

By its composition and form, Mr. Gaudreau's work pays tribute to the mining and geological heritage of the Thetford region.
Accessible at all times, everyone is invited to come and admire the Croque-roche, which brings together the different dimensions of the site itself and its history.
The croque roche is an autonomous sculpture located in the center of the esplanade of the former KB3 mining site.
The making of this artwork was made of stainless steel and stones.
It takes the form of a vast tubular coil deployed horizontally, whose constituent metal mesh envelope is filled with hundreds of small natural and sculpted rocks of varying craftsmanship.
A monumental tendril culminating in the direction of the headframe, the work is intended to offer an organic and mineral presence in the heart of the space which is very evocative, offers many correlations with the vocation of the site both from a current and historical perspective.
