A easternmost flag pole of three flag poles flies the maroon and white flag of Springfield College. The college was founded in 1885 as the YMCA Training School and still uses the YMCA symbol of an inverted triangle on its seal. Along the sides of the triangle is the college's motto Spirit - Mind- Body. In the center of the triangle is the lamp of learning.
