[FIN] Vuoden 2013 joulukuussa avattu Kirjastosilta ylittää Aurajoen ja se on tarkoitettu keveälle liikenteelle. Sillan pituus on 60 metriä ja sen leveys 5 metriä. Sillan erikoisuus on sen lasista tehdyt kaiteet. Ne voidaan valaista erilaisilla valon väreillä. Silta on valaistu joka yö. Turun kaupunki julkaisee nettisivuillaan kalenteria minkälainen valaistus on eri päivinä. Sillan valoja voi ihailla läntisen rantakadun varrelta tai kulkemalla siltaa pitkin. Sillalta löytyy myös waymark WM13DKY.
Paikalle ei pääse autolla, mutta kirjaston vieressä on parkkialue. Kävelten tai polkupyörällä pääsee oikein mainiosti. Huomio että Suomessa kesäisin pimeää aikaa on hyvin vähän. Talvisin sillan valaistus on helpointa havaita.
[EN] The Library Bridge, opened in December 2013, crosses the Aura River and is intended for light traffic. The bridge is 60 meters long and 5 meters wide. The specialty of the bridge is its railings made of glass. They can be illuminated with different colors of light. The bridge is lit every night. The City of Turku publishes a calendar on its website about the type of lighting on different days. The lights of the bridge can be admired along the west promenade or by walking along the bridge. There is also a waymark WM13DKY on the bridge.
The site is not accessible by car, but there is a car park next to the library -see coordinates. Walking or cycling is really great. Note that there is very little dark time in Finland during the summer. In winter, the lighting of the bridge is easiest to detect.
