DE: Im Rahmen der Aktion "Gebäude erzählen Geschichte" hat der Lions Club in Brühl in Zusammenarbeit mit der Stadt Brühl Anfang 2011 fast dreissig Tafeln mit Hintergrundinformationen zur Geschichte der Gebäude gestiftet. Diese graue Tafel mit weißer Schrift befindet sich neben dem Eingang zu den Geschäftshäusern in der Kölnstraße 10-12 und trägt folgenden Text:
Geschäftshäuser Kölnstraße 10-12
Um 1900 entstanden durch den Bonner Architekten Chr. Mennicken diese repräsentativen Wohn- und Geschäftshäuser, Ausdruck des wirtschaftlichen Aufschwungs in Brühl seit der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jh.'s. Die spiegelgleich gebauten Häuser fallen besonders durch ihre reich verzierten Stuckfassaden auf. Vor allem die Kopfmasken und die geschwungenen Dachgauben verleihen dem Ensemble ein barockes Gepräge. Bei ihrer Errichtung dienten die Erdgeschosse als Textilwarengeschäfte.

EN: As part of the "Buildings tell history" campaign, the Lions Club in Brühl, in cooperation with the city of Brühl, donated almost thirty boards with background information on the history of the buildings at the beginning of 2011. This gray board with white lettering is located next to the entrance to the commercial buildings at Kölnstrasse 10-12 and has the following text:

Around 1900, the Bonn architect Chr. Mennicken created these representative residential and commercial buildings, an expression of the economic boom in Brühl since the second half of the 19th century. The mirror-like houses are particularly noticeable because of their richly decorated stucco facades. Above all, the head masks and the curved dormer windows give the ensemble a baroque character. When they were built, the ground floors were used as textile stores.
