The cemetery is still active for family members of those who already reside here. The church was founded early 1800s and the church building built either 1860 or 1880, depending on source.
Oldest grave date I saw was 1829 and the newest was 2014.

Leroy's Obituary:
"Leroy Charles Niewald of Owensville, Mo. departed this life on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Gasconade Manor in Owensville. He had reached the age of 78 years, two months, and 26 days.
"Leroy was born in Owensville, Mo. on April 2, 1936, a son of the late Louise (Buehrer) and Fred Paul Niewald. He was a member of St. James United Church of Christ at Charlotte, Mo. He served our country in the United States Army. He worked for 24 years at MFA Fertilizer Plant and was a manager part of that time.
"He is survived by one sister, Lorene Aufderheide of Owensville; one brother, Fred Niewald and wife Maxine of Owensville; and nieces and nephews.
"He was preceded in death by his parents Louise (Buehrer) and Fred Paul Niewald.
"No services are planned. He will be buried in the Immanuel Presbyterian Cemetery on Brakemeyer Rd., Owensville.
"Funeral arrangements under the direction of Gottenstroeter Funeral Homes.
