Colonel Overaker's business interests included lumber, agriculture, banking, a general store and postal service. This two-story, four-bedroom Queen Anne-style mansion is a rare surviving example of upscale period homes in "old" Plano. After serving as a home to several families, including a Plano mayor, it became a bed and breakfast and then an event venue. It has since returned to private ownership and use as a domicile.

A video history of the home, given by previous owner, Pat Black, is here. For a better look at the house from angles where the utility lines and foliage are less intrusive, please see this previous waymark. The URL there has gone invalid, though, retained simply for reference purposes.

Year photo was taken: 1940
