EN: The rectory of Herznach is located north of the church on the edge of a hill. Part of the building is outside the medieval protective walls around the church, but the main part is inside the churchyard.
The house was frequently rebuilt and extended. The oldest part probably dates back to the 13th or 14th century. In the next two centuries the building was extended twice towards the north. The stair tower dates back to 1601, and the windows on the west side were also installed in that year. The roof truss was renewed in 1673 and the cellar entrance is dated 1690. At that time the house may have received its present exterior appearance. However, the interior was later rebuilt several times and adapted to new needs.
DE: Das Pfarrhaus von Herznach befindet sich nördlich der Kirche am Rand eines Hügels. Ein Teil des Gebäudes befindet sich ausserhalb der mittelalterlichen Schutzmauern um die Kirche, aber der Hauptteil ist im Kirchhof.
Das Haus wurde häufig umgebaut und erweitert. Der älteste Teil stamm vermutlich aus dem 13. oder 14. Jahrhundert. In den nächsten zwei jarhunderten wurde das Gebäude zweimal gegen Norden erweitert. Der Treppenturm stammt aus dem Jahr 1601. Auch die Fenster an der Westseite wurden in diesem Jahr eingebaut. Der Dachstuhl wurde 1673 erneuert und der Kellerzugang ist mit 1690 datiert. Damals dürte das Haus sein heutiges Äusseres Erscheinungsbild erhalten haben. Das Innere wurde aber später noch mehrfach umgebaut und an neue Bedürfnisse angepasst.
