Om in te spelen op de nieuwe doelgroep en om het achterhaalde imago van het oude winkelcentrum te veranderen, onderging Nova in de afgelopen jaren een flinke make-over. Dolf Mook (directeur van het winkelcentrum) ‘Het is sowieso een mooi en licht centrum. We hebben ook wat aan de indeling veranderd. Zo hebben we het winkeloppervlak verkleind. De retailmarkt is enorm aan het veranderen en daar moeten we rekening mee houden. We hebben bij een aantal winkels de bovenverdieping naar beneden gehaald en op die manier ruimte gecreëerd voor andere bedrijven op de eerste etage. Zo is er een sportschool gekomen en is het gezondheidscentrum uitgebreid. Het centrum krijgt daarmee een bredere functie dan alleen winkelen. Je komt hier voor je boodschappen, maar ook voor de apotheek, of om even te sporten. Daarmee wordt de wijkfunctie nog groter.’
