The Texas Historical Marker for the cemetery notes that there are thirty-three victims of the tornado buried here. The Carter family are all together, as are members of the Cabler family, and in the same row as the Carters are Benjamin Franklin Brown and his wife, Henrietta.

Mrs. Carter's short marble headstone has a rose at the top, with this inscription:

Emma P.
Carter

Born
Oct. 25, 1874

Died
in Zephyr Cyclone
May 30, 1909

-----

Obviously, Mrs. Carter lingered for a bit, as the tornado hit on May 29 and she passed on on the 30th.
