A.Y. Jackson Ashcroft painting, Sept. 06, 1945
This piece is a mosaic interpretation of a painting that artist A.Y. Jackson did of our town. We are blessed that such an auspicious character thought enough of Ashcroft to immortalize it in his art. As such, Marina and Daniel saw fit to recreate it for the enjoyment of the town’s residents and visitors.
Mr. Jackson also did many drawings of Ashcroft, which were interpreted in a mosaic by Marina and Daniel.
You may recognize the Community Futures building and the Central Hotel building which are still present on Railway Ave.
