Le moulin de La Chevrotière est un moulin à eau bâti en 1802. L'immeuble se compose d'un bâtiment monumental en pierre à quatre niveaux, coiffé d'une toiture pentue à versants droits. Le moulin se situe en retrait de la route 138, le long de l'ancien tracé du chemin du Roy, dans la municipalité de Deschambault-Grondines.

Le moulin de la Chevrotière présente aussi un intérêt patrimonial pour sa valeur historique, comme moulin à eau à farine. Avec le manoir et l'église, le moulin à eau constitue le noyau de la seigneurie aux XVIIIe et XIXe siècles. En 1686, le Conseil souverain impose, en effet, aux seigneurs de construire un moulin à farine pour leurs censitaires, qui doivent y faire moudre leur grain et payer en retour un droit de mouture, nommé droit de banalité. Pour cette raison, un moulin à farine tel que le moulin de La Chevrotière est dit « moulin banal ». Ce moulin témoigne ainsi de l'histoire économique du fief de La Chevrotière. Le secteur, qui comptait un manoir, plusieurs demeures, une boutique de forgeron, une boutique de cordonnier, un petit chantier naval ainsi qu'un autre moulin à farine, a été le lieu d'une intense activité économique au XIXe siècle. Le moulin et sa dépendance constituent les derniers vestiges de cette activité. De plus, les vestiges archéologiques euro-québécois illustrent l'occupation du site, qui remonte aux premiers temps de la colonie française.
