With a fortified appearance and a Romanesque ogival style, the Church of Santa María de Baiona was built in the 13th century and was a collegiate church from 1482 to 1850.
It is divided into three naves, with their corresponding rectangular apses. The main nave is reminiscent of the Cistercian style of the monastery of Santa María de Oia. Two buttresses flank the door of the façade, formed by three pairs of columns, a smooth tympanum and archivolts. The windows are Romanesque and have a beautiful Romanesque rose window on the façade. In 1841, several cruises of different styles were moved to the atrium in the streets of Baiona
