Plac Wolności - plac w Poznaniu w formie prostokątnej płaszczyzny o wymiarach 85 x 205 metrów. Otoczony jest od północy, wschodu i południa jezdniami oraz wieloma obiektami ważnymi dla miasta. Wśród nich są m.in.: Biblioteka Raczyńskich, Muzeum Narodowe, Arkadia, Hotel Bazar. Na samym placu znajduje się ogromna fontanna, pomnik Higiei ze źródłem wody, a sam plac często służy za miejsce do organizowania imprez masowych czy wystaw.

Plany powstania tego placu powstały jeszcze przed rozbiorami Polski, w 1764 roku. Zabory uniemożliwiły ich realizację, jednak podczas gdy tereny należały do Cesarstwa Niemieckiego, plany były przez nich kontynuowane. Od ok. 1800 roku jako obiekt reprezentacyjny, ale też miejsce handlu powstał Plac Wilhelmowski - ku czci cesarza niemieckiego. Obecną nazwę plac zyskał po II wojnie światowej.

Freedom Square - a square in Poznan in the form of a rectangular plane with dimensions of 85 x 205 meters. It is surrounded from the north, east and south by roadways and many objects important to the city. Among them are: the Raczynski Library, the National Museum, the Arkadia, Hotel Bazar. In the square itself there is a huge fountain, a statue of Hygiei with a water source, and the square itself is often used as a place to organize mass events or exhibitions.

Plans for this square were made even before the partitions of Poland, in 1764. The partitions made their realization impossible, however while the area belonged to the German Empire, the plans were continued by them. About 1800 a representative object, but also as a place of trade was created and named Wilhelm Square - in honour of the German Emperor. The square acquired its current name after World War II.
