First section built 1674 as a home; second section built 1773 as a tavern. Used as a tavern, and toll house on the Boston - Hartford Turnpike. Ell on west end contains an upstairs ballroom. Post Office located here 1809-1818. It is one of the oldest homes in Medfield.
