With the intention of remodeling the urban space, the Ourense City Council commissioned Ramón Conde with a statue to decorate a roundabout at the confluence of Ramón Cabanillas and Ramón Valle-Inclán streets. The artist materialized this intersection of namesake writers by sculpting the silhouettes of the literati in corten steel. The monument, known as Los Ramones, was inaugurated in 1994. Ramón María del Valle-Inclán was a Galician playwright, poet and novelist in the Spanish language, one of the most important members of the Generation of 98. Ramón Cabanillas was the Poet of the Race that led Galician poetry towards modernity; he was dedicated to her on the Galician Literature Day in 1976.
