The Ramsey Harbour Swing Bridge is depicted on this postcard. The Ramsey Harbour Swing Bridge spans the inner Ramsey Harbour and links the main part of the town with the Mooragh Promenade. It carries both vehicles and a footway over the River Sulby.
The swing bridge was built in 1892 and still dominates the town today as a distinctive feature.
'The bridge consists of two pairs of steel trusted arches, each pair spanning 64m to the central pivot. It is supported at this central point by a circular pier of dressed masonry. The turning mechanism is electrically operated. The main contractor for the bridge was Cleveland Bridge & Engineering Co., Darlington.'
