If you are walking by the Illa da Toxa you can see this chapel built in the s. XIX with a Latin cross plan and single nave. The most remarkable feature is to be entirely covered with scallop shells, from its base to the bell tower. It is surrounded by gardens and in the surroundings of the Gran Hotel and spa of A Toxa.
Previously it was dedicated to San Sebastián but today, after a reform, the Virgen del Carmen is placed as the main image. In this chapel the famous San Caralampio, a martyr of the s. III, which is a patron of skin diseases, hence the patronage and worship in this special place of thermal waters as therapies to heal the skin in the spas of this island of A Toxa, hence the people, from very ancient times , go to this chapel asking for the protection of this Saint.
