Engang var der i Roskilde 12 navngivne kilder, nu er der 8 tilbage. Maglekilde er den kraftigste kilde i Roskilde. I dag producerer den 15.000 liter vand i timen, men tidligere producerede den 90000 liter vand i timen. Der har tidligere været 5 vandmøller og et kurbad med vand fra Maglekilde.

Once there were 12 named springs in Roskilde, now there are 8 left. Maglekilde is the most powerful spring in Roskilde. Today it produces 15,000 liters of water per hour, but in the past it produced 90,000 liters of water per hour. There have previously been 5 watermills and a spa with water from Maglekilde.
The spring cave with Neptune's head was designed by architect H.C. Position in 1845
