This is a public draw well in in the southern Portuguese village of Messejana

This draw well is located in the boundaries of the village, close to the walls of the local bullfighting ring. It's part of a complex which includes a public washing house. The place is kept in good condition and it's picturesque, with all its white and blue. There is a date marked in the wall of the draw well: 1980. Despite this date, there is historical evidence of the existence of the draw well in the 19th century. So, 1980 might be the year when the latest renovation took place. The draw well is protected with a metallic grid, so nobody will fall into it.
