A parish boundary marker in the form of a small metal plate set into the kerbstone, marking the boundary between West Ham Parish and Cann Hall Parish.

This is a small, shield-shaped boundary marker inscribed ‘W. H. P. 1894’. It is one of a long series of similar parish boundary markers around West Ham Parish, several of which still survive. This one stands almost exactly on the line of the Greenwich Meridian. Some references (e.g. Mike Horne’s Survey of London Parish Boundary Markers) give the address for this one incorrectly as Ellingham Road.
The marker was placed here to mark the boundary between West Ham (to the south) and Cann Hall (to the north and east) parishes. Cann Hall was a relatively short-lived parish, formed from part of Wanstead parish in 1894 but abolished in 1956.

Set into the kerbstone on the west side of Edith Road, E15. It is halfway down the northern section of this road, close to the lamppost.
