St. Anthony's parish was forged in 1896 for Bryan's substantial Italian community; this well-preserved Romanesque Revival sanctuary replaced the first church which was destroyed by fire in 1926.

NRHP Nomination Form"2-story, load-bearing, masonry institutional building; exterior walls of polychromatic brick; gable roof w/composition roof; 3-bay facade; doubledoor entrance; round-arched openings w/brick voussoirs; wood-sash windows with 1/1 lights, holding stained glass; 3-part brick parapet w/corbeled and decorative brickwork; understated Romanesque Revival details include blind arcade stepped with the pitch of the gable-end parapet with cast-stone columns supporting arches in E. elev.; recessed entry under multiple entrados; a 2-tiered square bell tower w/decorative brick panels; corbeling and pyramidal roof is at SW corner; rounded apse is on W. elevation."
