The line of the Greenwich Meridian is marked by a metal plaque, set a little above head height on to the outside of the brick wall surrounding Greenwich Park. The marker is thought to have been originally placed in around 1975 and moved slightly, to a more-accurate position, in 1984. It is one of three plaques of similar design in the London Borough of Greenwich.
The plaque has the following wording in black lettering on a silver-coloured background:

ZERO DEGREES
LONGITUDE
WEST EAST
