« Nous avons lancé un projet et nous aimerions que cela soit un loueur de vélo qui s'installe », précise Frédéric Valletoux, le maire (LR) et conseiller régional de Fontainebleau. Depuis l'ouverture du nouvel office de tourisme de la ville impériale, l'ancien local, situé rue Royale, à deux pas de l'entrée du château, demeure fermé. « Nous devrions en savoir plus d'ici la fin de l'été », précise l'édile.
Ce bâtiment à l'architecture caractéristique de sa première vocation, à savoir une station à essence qui « date des années 1930 », estime le maire, est implanté juste en face de la maison de ventes Osenat. Le célèbre commissaire-priseur a même songé à le racheter pour en faire un lieu d'exposition avant d'y renoncer.
Ce bâtiment en béton a une pièce qui donne sur la rue et un hangar que l'on rejoint via un petit couloir. « Cela doit faire entre 60 et 80 m2 et cela se prêterait bien à la location et à l'entretien de vélo », souligne Frédéric Valletoux. La mairie resterait propriétaire des lieux."
